What This Site Is

Discover Bowling Green (discoverbowlinggreen.com) is an independent local community guide and media resource for South Central Kentucky. We are not a real estate brokerage, property management company, or financial advisor. This site provides informational content only.

What Information We Collect

We only collect information that you voluntarily provide to us. This happens in two places:

Newsletter Sign-Up Form

When you subscribe for email updates, we collect:

• Your name (optional)
• Your email address (required)
• Your stated topic interests (optional checkboxes)

Contact Form

When you send us a message, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• The subject and content of your message

We do not collect payment information, social security numbers, or any sensitive personal data.

How We Use Your Information

• Newsletter subscribers: We use your email to send the occasional update about Bowling Green — new guides, local events, and community news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• Contact form messages: We use your information only to respond to your message. We do not add contact form respondents to marketing lists without explicit consent.
• We do not sell your information to third parties for any purpose.
• We do not share your information with advertisers or sponsors.

Form Processing

Our forms are processed through Netlify Forms, a third-party service. Form submissions are stored on Netlify's servers and delivered to us by email. Netlify's own privacy policy governs how they handle form data on their infrastructure. You can review Netlify's privacy policy at netlify.com.

Cookies and Analytics

This site may use basic analytics tools (such as Netlify Analytics or a similar service) to understand how many people visit the site and which pages are most useful. This data is aggregate and anonymized — we cannot identify individual visitors from it.

• We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe and confirm deletion or provide the requested information

Newsletter subscribers can also unsubscribe directly from any email we send, which removes you from future mailings immediately.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to how we handle your information, we'll update this page with a new "last updated" date. For minor clarifications, we may update the text without a date change. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
